Kappa is DEFINITELY not in the top 3 anymore. Theta is about the only sorority rushing against Pi Phi. Pi Phi and Theta are way above Kappa, who rushes against Chi-O, Tri-Delt and Zeta now. In addition, these sororities get girls from Kappa, who has to snap bid to make quota. Nice try Kappa at self-promotion.

Actually I disagree about Kappa. Still as strong as ever. I would also move Alpha Phi UP, not down.

Totally agree with UT's original ranking below. Most accurate and unbiased (and historically correct)ranking on this board. Somethings never change at UT. Been this way since before the early 60's and remains unchanged. I would also agree with the fact that all the houses are full of great girls. I would ask you all to take a look at some of the other boards (large schools with prestigious/historic greek systems...i.e. SEC schools) and notice that they are not anywhere as catty and juvenile as this board. We did not have this kind of atmosphere when I was at Texas (and was in a "PKT" house ). All houses were supportive of each other and I had friends in a multitude of other houses. Looks like it is a few wannabees with image issues really causing the conflict here. You should represent your university and your house in a more positive manner. It is a privilege to be at UT and to be greek.

No where except maybe Alabama and the "Old Row" mentality does the elitist attitude of PKT exisit. It represents everything wrong with the culture of UT's Greek system and society in general. You can't see it because you are the P in PKT. It is terms like this that cause the backlash because all of the "honorable" girls in UT's Greek system are sick of being made to feel like they are less just because they wear letters that don't start with a P, K or T. Kappa is a perfect example of how today they are NOTHING like they were in the 60's. But they hold on to the PKT for all it's worth. Reality can't even change this mind set, because if it could, it would have already. It would take a major scandal to bring the cultural Mecca of PKT down eventhough they are nothing like were in the 1960's. People in Texas hold so tightly to tradition that they can be blindsided by what is real. People talk negatively about PKT because PKT feel the need to pigeon hole themselves as fabulous.

I understand/appreciate your point but reiterate that in my circles nothing has changed in regards to the ranking of PKT. Perhaps it is more of a changed perspective from the outside looking in.

However, if more time were spent concentrating on the positives of each and every group, the issue would fix itself. You have this resentment/bias against PKT (and especially K?) that then manifests into the exact prejudice that you are crticizing.

While I was a "PKT", my family (mother/3 sisters/2 daughters/2 daughters -in -law/cousins and nieces) represent the full range of PKT houses...and not a one of them feels superior to any other house. We all are proud of the history of our houses (the first 3 houses at UT),the sisterhood of each house, the friendships that have formed and the service that each group provides to the community. Again, I believe this is mostly an inaccurate view that is created from the outside looking in.
