delt vs sigma chi
by: RusheeWhat do y'all think of Delt and sigma chi, from personal experience not stereotypes

Both chapters have 200+ guys. Delt has just a few more. No one resprects Sigma Chi simply because they love the TFM lifestyle. They love to give off that tacky frat stereotype persona. Even some of them wear tanktops to class. Really only freshman girls cling to them but grow out of it by sophomore year because they realize how cliche they really are. Delt is way more traditional and classy. They have been here at UT since 1904. A lot of athletes are in Delt as well. They have a lot more girls that stick around all 4 years too. A comparison of a Sigma Chi to a Delt is....... That a Sigma Chi is that guy that is always trying to prove something to you. He wants you to think he's cool. He cares so much about what you think of him. When it's obvious he's fake and not who he wants you to think he is. You can tell deep down that he feels very inadequate about himself and is trying to cover it up. Some of them you can tell are pretty lost and have very little clue who they are. This is where the TFM identity fills their hole. A Delt is that guy you meet that doesn't care what you think about him. He knows who he is and is comfortable with himself. He is doesn't try to prove anything to you. In fact, he would rather get to know you instead. Hes just trying to have a good time and wants everyone else to as well just as equally. The majority of UT would agree that Delt is better and Sigma Chi all around. This is how it always has been and how it always will be.

In my opinion Delt used to be a lot better and is slowly getting worse and worse guys each year. They hang out with good girls but aren't known to really have a good time. Their pledgeship is kind of a joke and the only bad part about it is that it is long. Sigma Chi has been at ut longer and does have a longer history. The guys aren't as respected as much because of a TFM lifestyle, but that's on it's way out. They also have a better house location. Honestly, I think that Delt, Sigma Chi, and Kappa Sig are all very similar. ATO has had a better rep in the past and they're starting to slip for whatever reason.

are good houses, no doubt. Just a matter of which group feels more chill to you. Girls have their preferences but not all those preferences are the same. In other words, both pull in their fair share and neither is a joke no matter how they try to say that about each other, so you can't really go wrong with either IMO.

I think sigma chi is losing that TFM faction. They have done a good job with out of state guys and I would say have moved up a bit. Need to stop talking about the house upgrade and get it done if they want to hang.
Delt good also. Probably a bit more laid back.
Beware of people who say "the way it always will be". Usually they are scared someone is passing them. Nothing is static.

Matthew McConaughey was a Delt, so Delts are, and always will be, better than not just Sigma Chi, but SAE and the other frats combined. Let's fact it, have you ever seen a talented SAE from UT? That's what I thought. They only have daddy's money to support them. So Sad.

Sigma Chi's pledgeship has never really been that respected among mid-tier fraternities.
