I know I'm going to get a lot of catty replies to what I'm about to write but I want PNMs to know that not everything you read on here is how everyone feels.
We all know the "traditional" rankings:
PKT, XO, DDD, ZTA
DG, AXO, KD, ADPi, APhi
AZD, AEPhi, SDT
However, I'm from what some people would call a prominent school in a big city and this is where the people from my school joined (in order of popularity):
PKT,XO, ADPi, KD, DG, ZTA, DDD, AXO, APhi
No one I knew joined the other groups but they're still great groups.
I'm sure if you asked girls from other areas of the state, their list would be different too. All the groups are strong and you will have a great experience no matter where you join. You won't have as much fun if you drop out and don't go greek though. Go where you feel welcome and you'll be happy.

It means AXiD and AEPhi are much more similar to the houses in the line above them than they are to SDT who have about 40 members and no house. There less difference between PKT and AEPHi/AXiD, as far as experience goes, than there is between those two and SDT.

SDT has 80ish girls and a space that serves as their house but isn't a live-in like the others.

Most people wouldn't agree with your first "traditional" rankings. No one puts ADPi and KD on the same line as AXO, DG, and APhi. They are good groups, but that is not how they are ranked in most people's views. And I can't imagine what school you go to that people would choose ADPi and KD over the ones listed behind it. But your school is merely a sample and maybe those girls were legacies, so there is really no validity to your data at all.

I think the point is that between PKT and SDT, everyone has a pretty different opinion. Depending on the area of Texas where you are from, if you're from out of state, if you're an honors student, if you're into partying, if you're into philanthropy, if you're a social climber or not, you're going to rank certain groups higher than others. If you're a fraternity guy, you'll have a different ranking too. I know there are a few upper middle tier sororities that I would never even have considered joining because they are looked down on where I live. However, my cousin lives in a different state and they are top tier.
