No middle tiers

UT is an interesting campus. The top 8-9 chapters are really good,Fiji, KA, Sig Ep, ZBT , Delt, SAE,Kappa Sig and maybe Sigma Chi . Phi Psi has the house and size but the membership is uneven These chapters have big houses 150 plus members good to gret sorority relationships.
Then you have a couple in the middle, Sammy, Pike maybe BUC and Beta.
These chapters have 90 -110 members. Sammies house is old, Pike has a new house but hasn't risen much . Beta does not have a house a house and BUC rents the old ATO house. These chapters have ok sorority relationships.
Then you have several fraternities that have small houses with 50-60 members. DU , Delta Sig , Theta Chi TKE and Lambda Chi. These chapters mix with ADPi, KD and AZD once in a while.
DU and Delta Sig have a little better physical facility than others on their tier but they just never seem to breakout into what mid tier exists at UT.
Then you have rock bottom, Phi Kap, Phi Tau, Zeta Psi( nice house low numbers) and some others maybe. How they stick around I don't know.I am puzzled there are not more mid chapters here . Just a stratified caste system I guess.

Saying "maybe sigma chi" when old row is a thing and you put two fraternities that are arguably worse in front of them is actually crazy. Delt, you don't need to put anyone down to make yourself look better. Those new row insecurities are showing.

Real estate is so expensive in Austin . We will never see another traditional SEC house built again at UT.

Several fraternities have lost their houses since the 1980s. Phi Delt, Sigma Nu,Beta , ATO. These were good, they really never came back in the same way.
Lambda Chi Alpha and DU also lost their houses. They were never as strong as the four chapters listed above but they were decent size chapters. When you lose the house , you never really recover.

I’ve also heard the administration treats houses differently due to wealthy donors. Some houses get a pass while others get suspended for the same offenses. May be why the houses you listen are no longer here.
