westlake vs. other austin schools

Why is it that Westlake isn't well represented in the top tier (FIJI SAE)? It seems to me like Austin High, St. Stephens, and St. Andrews have a lot more guys in the top 2 houses plus KSig. Westlake guys basically only pledge SigEp.

Because Westlake is a newer area that wasn't really developed until the mid/late 80's, whereas St. Andrews and austin high have been around forever. In 20 years more Westlake kids will go to the old-line houses.

I think you mean St. Stephens and Austin High. St. Andrews upper school has only been around like 15 years.

They have a long tradition of cowboys and spurs at UT SigEp , so they have a natural feeder. SigEp is a really unique chapter at UT, not too far behind SAE in my opinion, and has been top tier since the 90s.

I'm with him on this one, sigep is still a powerhouse at Texas greek and by far there is nothing wrong with being a sigep. Feel free to rush them both and see where you fit

Because St. Stephens and St. Andrews have been the best private schools in Austin forever. And Austin high has also been around forever and a lot of old line Austin families sent their kids there. Westlake kids will keep going SigEp but I think that in 10-20 years you'll see a lot of them going SAE and FIJI

I think it's weird how there are Westlake girls in PKT but hardly any Westlake guys in SAE/Fiji. I thought girls were supposed to be the exclusionary and catty ones?

I agree, it is kinda weird but it's because a lot of the westlake girls are similar to the old line private and public private girls. Lots of money, attractive, classy. Most of the guys however tend to go to St. Steve's Austin high and St. Andrews instead for some reason.

It's because a lot of them are legacies whose moms or grandmothers were from other places. Long histories with those chapters.

So the point is??????? Only a SAE or FIJI would bother continually posting on GR to repeat the same old thing. Everyone gets it. Are u having a hard time believing it to be true? Would be my guess!
