Theta Mothers at Preff party?
by: Spooked
I’m hoping this isn’t true but are Theta moms and older (already graduated) sisters really at their house during pref? Is that a real thing? Any other houses do that? Like am I going to see my friend’s mom waving at me through a curtain?
Please please tell me they aren’t that CRINGE cuz that is just not cool of them.

If we have a new member who is a legacy, we will invite that family member to initiation but never to pref. We will sometimes have our advisors helping behind the scenes with pref but we never have adults attempting to sway someone's decision. Very strange if this is true.

Absolutely inappropriate for mothers to be at pref night at any sorority’s property whatsoever. What is wrong with them???
If you need advisors why would you need more than 3-5 max? If this is a differently abled housing situation then they do need help but I hadn’t heard of that existing at UT.
An establishing year for a chapter house it also seems understandable but not a house that has been here even over 5 years. These ridiculous women should be embarrassed for inserting themselves.

Isn’t that overstepping? Seems like there should be a UT Panhellenic rule. Seems bizarre that women are okay frankly imposing pressure on a teenager for a choice they made years ago. I would want my daughter to feel confident in her own decision and would be FURIOUS if my sister showed up to surprise pressure her not to mention how awkward for the other girls.
#7by: Kinda funny
So a bunch of fake plastic insecure women are trying to impose their will on naive little girls? If they are dumb enough to want Dance Mom episode for freshman year then let them. 🍿🍿
Their committee drama was entertaining to watch and I bet those same moms will be back!
