Who do sororities characterize as a "top girl"?

Top girls are rich girls who went to the right camps. Dallas girls are top because they often come from rich areas or big schools with older girls from those schools in the houses. Kappa, PiPhi, and Theta are out of reach for most girls. They only want rich, pretty, old money girls and legacies.

Pi phi and Kappa are definitely most selective. Care more about reputations and character and connections help. Both get slack for being snobby and exclusive but ones I know are sweet and kind. Genuine friendships exist within those two houses and lots of mentoring across grades. Known to be smart and beautiful.

Theta cares more about which Houston or Dallas high school did you attend. Explains the train wrecks of last three years - your behavior doesn’t matter if come from right zip code but it has seriously hurt the house’s reputation in Texas. Quantity over quality is a more honest perspective and we have been doing remodeling so maybe needed the extra money. Lots of drama here as our top girls are the ones who formed the infamous kommittee which scorched earth for entire pledge class and divided the house. But since not enough room for us to all live in house anyway maybe their ringleaders mom will buy them their own house. Consider yourself a top girl here if went to Memorial or Highland Park and if you want in you can be in. Theta will not cut you. Don’t kid yourself, if you didn’t hang out with someone in high school they won’t hang with you in college either and might form a committee to discuss how embarrassing you are and can’t believe both of you in same house. Lived it. Wish I had seen Greek Rank before started UT or knew older girls before I got here.

Give me a break rich girls are not going to public high schools or UT. Maybe upper middle class girls. The lore of certain sororities is a joke being perpetuated my moms who thought they were special and now their daughters think they are. Congrats if you participate in Greek life. Okay here is how UT rush works from the eyes of an active. Basically, if you have a good reputation and know older girls in the sorority that is an option for you. Most likely you will be in the sorority you stayed with for flop, march madness, or cooking for kids. resurrection...maybe but so many kids that came arent actually going to UT. Also if you have friends a year older than you in that sorority from high school you have a chance. Otherwise, you most likely won't even be considered for that sorority. IF THIS IS THE CASE... dm girls a year older than you and try to chat or meet up for coffee.
