What is the committee at theta?
by: GreekrankI saw some posts talking about a committee in theta? I gathered that it was a scandal but I’m just confused on what happened

Small group of 11-16 girls in theta’s last pledge class (so now rising sophs) that actually bullied the rest of their pledge class. Smallish core decided they were the coolest in their pledge class and named group kool Kat committee and invited and disinvited girls - they would actually confront their pledge sisters and if girls weren’t contributing to sh&t talking the others in chats they would be excluded from group. Mean girl stuff- finally enough girls complained about them that moms got involved and threatened lawsuits- money was donated and girls got to stay but the 60-70 ish girls in the rest of pledgclass that aren’t in that clique hate them- as do the “nicer” girls in other houses. Upperclassmen don’t like them because know they hurt rush and already fighting reputation issues so double trouble. The usual stuff that happens there but this group was arrogant enough to formalize it. Pretty on outside but not on inside. Used to be a top 3 house supposedly but when they went open door sign up sorority and took anyone as long as from a big city it has really hurt their house and sisterhood. All houses have great and not so great girls but rarely that fake and openly mean.

These Kool Kat Kommittee are girls are from the same two high schools who named their friend groups back then and have carried it to college = high school 2.0. They largely only hang out with this same friend group and maybe a few that they went camp with. Super insular living in a bubble and only socializing with guys they grew up with. Theta has been this way for a very long time but it has gotten so much worse. Their parents excused the behavior in hs and now pay to fix it in college.

Completely white washed- groups are expected but these girls are vicious and pictures posted are so fake now it’s funny

They do have some nice girls- just not as many as you would think. Mainly mean girl vibe and you better put out for Saes to fit in.

No house is perfect. No srat compared to the drama and infighting like Theta. Friend groups in latest pc - rising sophomores- can’t stand each and are very insular.
Palpable tension at parents weekends - and a mom never forgets so look at your source- daughter inside the committee or outside They aren’t supposed to acknowledge it ever happened so ….

We were great when I was there 3 years ago but wow for current group- pushing my younger cousin elsewhere and I’m sad about it
Came on to see if everything I had heard was true and now seems like my cats are outta the bag and off the rails
