fiji vs. sae

by:

I just finished my sophomore year, and I'm a FIJI here at UT. Saw a bunch of questions about SAE vs FIJI so thought I'd address it myself. In terms of wealth, if you look at the top of FIJI and the top of SAE you have some of the wealthiest families in the state of Texas, and some of the best-connected. I would say that SAE, on average, has more money and prestigious families than us, but mainly because they look for old money and old family name more in a rushee than we do. I would say that we're the most secretive, and have been at the top for longer than SAE. Right now, their house is nicer than ours, but once our renovation is done we'll have them beat. The only other difference between the two is the areas/high schools that each rushes. We rush a lot more Alamo Heights, Kinkaid, and St. Marks than them, while SAE gets a lot more HP than us, as well as more Episcopal and Austin private school guys (Stephens and Andrews, our Austin guys come primarily from Austin high). Hope this helped.

You're an idiot, and are probably in a bottom tier chapter. SAE has been and will continue to be one of the 2 best fraternities at Texas for years to come. Tradition, history, prominence.

You left one out -- Easy Pledgeship (as in NO Pledgeship..).

Y'all don't get it. That will affect the fraternity in general, but won't affect UT's chapter one bit. SigEp and KappaSig keep trying, y'all need it.

Face it SAE-- NO pledship. Yes, it DOES affect this chapter.

it won't. I mean it'll have a small effect as far as appearances go, but historically when nationals come in with those kind of bans, the top traditional chapters usually aren't touched (There's obviously exceptions). Texas SAE fits the mold and more of the kind of chapter that won't be touched.

Until they seriously injure/kill another kid, then they'll get hammered. They'll still obviously have a similar pledgeship to what they have had since their last pledge died...

It will affect their brotherhood. Going through all the trials and tribulations together is what bonds the pledge class.
