Sophomore Rush without Connections

I'm currently a freshman at UT and didn't rush freshman year but am interested in doing so sophomore year. I know and am friendly with a few girls in sororities but am not close with any. Will this affect my chances of getting a bid? Additionally, does the apartment I'm living in affect rush prospects? Thank y'all
