by: OOSim a pnm from a large OOS city (NYC), I was very involved in high school and I have no UT connections at all. honestly, what is rush going to look like for me? do I have a shot or will I get edged out by girls who have high school friends in the houses

AEPhi probably has the most girls from OOS. AXO, ADPI, Aphi, DG and KD are also the most open to girls without in-house connections. These are also the houses that tend to have the most oos/small town/suburban girls and are not known for having cliques of girls all from the same HS.
I'm not sure about AXID, they're a smaller house here that I don't know much about.
You will have to have recs at UT for all houses.

Do you know any Greeks at UT right now? If so, go ahead and make the effort to see if you can come visit this summer. Even if it is a stretch…like a friend of a friend. People are totally open to helping and it really would help you meet all kinds of girls in various houses. Good luck!

My little sis and her friend are ChiO and Aphi and both sorority friend groups have a decent amount of OOS girls. Rush with an open mind and be genuine in your approach so you get the most out of the process.
I graduated a couple of years back so my experience is not as relevant but we too had several OOS girls and so did other houses.
