Is Alpha Phi any good?

legacies don't matter in any sorority anymore - no one cares what your mom was and hopefully you are your own person anyway - this is your turn to forge your own path instead of thinking of the 2 minutes of initiation with them getting a pin that you are going to lose anyway

Facts are showing Alpha Phi has better reputation than Thetas so they are clearly more respected!

How many Aphis do you know? I happen to know at least 20 and maybe 3-4 are actual partiers. The rest are fun girly girls with tough majors and solid friend groups. Several have boyfriends and hardly ever go out. I like that they are doing their thing and no trying to be a second zeta or chi o or whatever. They seem happy in their house and Ive never heard them complain about their house or sisters.. Very decent mix of a big city Texas privates and public , some OOS and some smaller places around Texas, California etc. I think the mix works for them and they are a great group with low drama. Don’t make things up, that’s not very “classy”….

That’s kinda dumb to say that a sorority isn’t well respected by virtue of being ranked lower than some when the ranking is based on pre-historic simplified perception that don’t even hold true. And with UT growing students there can only be so many girls in the top 3 or 6 sororities.
I have met some super dull PiPhis and Chi Os that are crazy partiers and Aphi engineers and chem majors. it’s an oversimplification for any sorority to be labeled any one thing. We’re not clones of some communal trait we comply with the second we step on campus. And why should we be.
I understand it’s fun to put labels for the sake of distinction but let’s not get banter confused with facts.
And yes, there are normal, nice and well-mannered Thetas out there no matter what the Greek Rank Gestapo would have you believe.
So yes. Aphi is a good house in good standing with a cute and fun sisterhood just like a dozen other houses at UT. Rush indiscriminately and judge for yourself.
Don’t listen to the clowns on here.
