Why do you ask? You trying to find an angle?
if you’re not a legacy at UT directly you will likely not be invited in and that’s not a bad thing necessarily. Those girls have - for the most part - known each other since Kindergarten or the parents have know each other for decades. And that’s a lifetime of trust. The top 6-8 private schools in TX feed into all of Greek Life in UT so unless you went to those schools or have some connection, not sure it would be the most fun place tbh because those girls don’t join to make new friend but to stay with the ones they know and trust. If you are from a prominent TX family or UT royalty you know to be careful who you let into your circle. Takes years to let your guard down properly so by having your own country club inside UT you don’t have to.- rush all the houses girly but don’t get hung up on any one house

Partially but not entirely true - I’m not a legacy and my parents aren’t alums- we didn’t all go to private schools or certain camps- I did have a great resume and had lots of friends in several houses at UT. Pi Phi had the girls I looked up to and respected the most though and I’ve loved every bit of my time as one. I’ve made lots of new friends here also and am so proud to call these girls sisters for life! And it is true those connections can only help in the future so that’s a bonus.
And honestly even if you don’t get a bid you can still be friends with everyone- most of the freshmen girls mix really well with the people that live around them and no one cares which house - a cool girl is a cool girl and you will find lots at UT!

During the summer and rush i had insecure people say you only live with girls in your pledge class as a way to scare friend groups into pledging together but who wants 13th grade? And remember some girls don’t have options if have in-house sister or psycho mom so do what is right for you and stay friends even if not pledge sisters) There is a reason you chose Texas. While you live one year in your sorority house it isn’t true for 3 other years - you can live with anyone you want and will be friends with girls in other houses in any case. I literally live in a housing complex with girls in 3 different sororities and we have a great time. I admit my year in the house was the most fun because i was with the girls with same values as me but I wouldn’t trade the other years as also making great friendships.
Pi Phi is awesome and I hope you get to make the right choice for yourself too -maybe even as an angel- I’m glad I did!
