fraternities and athletes

What fraternities are suitable for athletes? My son won't have much time to devote to meetings or planning events but would like to occasionally participate in a few of the social events. Can he join a frat and then only be around for 10-20% of the time? Do some frats have comprehensive gyms? thanks!

D1 athletes here are generally not allowed to join frats because of the coaches, not the fraternities. Several friends chose to go to UT for sports and none of the coaches were okay with them joining a frat

Ms. Manning, I’m sure Arch can do whatever he wants (but also, don’t worry, the football team will arrange “social activities” for him and his teammates).

A scholarship D1 athlete probably doesn't have the time to devote to being in a fraternity, assuming that he wants to stay on the team or stay in school. Maybe if he makes it to his junior year, it might be a consideration, assuming he can keep grade eligible.
