Wouldn't be totally surprised if they knocked kappa sig off in the next year or two but the big 5 situation seems more likely. Plus, I believe the inclusion of such a powerful and southern fraternity would improve a lot of things about the current Texas greek system in general

though i feel like they already have good enough guys and parties. its just that being "omicron" and not a real fraternity like KA has kept a lot of those who are not familiar with the fraternity away and uninterested in giving it a shot. most omicrons i have met are great and im guessing next years pledge class will be the best one in a long time, it will be hard to pass up a chance to be a part of the first pledge class of Kappa Alpha Order at the University of Texas after such a unique situation of reaffiliation. should be interesting to see what happens

nothing. True Deep South KA chapters like Bama, Georgia, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Auburn are getting on just fine without confederate battle flags and uniforms. Its usually outsiders who are unhappy about it.

The Omicrons aren't wearing confederate garb either... so it is obviously not a big a deal.

What would KA-Omicron great (if this even happens) is a tradition-rich history at UT, a great house and strong recruitment in the schools that the feed SAE, Fiji, etc.

its probably kap sigs who's doubting their potential. KA here, before it went omicron, was rich with tradition and had a great house/location; that really hasn't changed. I personally am a KA legacy and wanted to go KA here but decided to go somewhere else bc of their instability as a local fraternity. They will be neck and neck with sig ep and kap sig for a while but will for sure rise past that as they were in the past

They still have enough guys from good schools in Dallas Houston and San Antonio. Hp , jesuit, strake, memorial, kincaid, alamo heights. They have connections to those schools so as long as they settle the lawsuits and go back to KA, any doubt of them being top will clear

KA was still behind SAE and maybe Sig Ep. They were the lower half of the big 4.

there used to be a real "top tier". Fiji, KA, and SAE were all about even about 4 years ago. sig ep was todays kappa sig, mostly top 3s leftovers. today, the top 3 isnt even a real category considering fiji/sae are so much higher than sig ep

when was KA on par with fiji? I do not recall...

kappa sig rose pretty quickly after the fall of KA. I dont see why it wouldnt work in the reverse scenario. Then again nobody will know until it happens

The reverse won't happen because Kappa Sig is a fraternity with a history at UT that's already built a line. Unless they become a local chapter, a reverse KA situation won't happen. KA will probably siphon the leftovers from the other 4 for a while and be in purgatory between the upper middle and top for a bit.

kap sig was irrelevant before KA got kicked off. a fraternity can have history but if there was no prominence then it makes no difference.
like the guy above pointed out, SAE fell below Sig Ep for a while due to their situation at the time but in the end the better fraternity still came out on top.

pretty childish to believe Kappa Sig is going to suddenly vault down and under Omicron as soon as they change their name to KA. The reverse doesn't happen as easily.

It's a whole lot easier to fall than to rise. I'm sure in a few years, they'll be considered top-tier with the rest of 'em if they still stand.

was top tier at UT longer than anyone put Phi Delt and Fiji omicron dropped because they became Texas Tau, which is unlikely given their comparatively good behaviors. If KA came back there'd be 5 top chapters, individually slightly weaker than before. KA has that new mansion. Sigma Chi and Delt would have to significantly improve housing to start competing. If Phi Psi's house plans are real, they could be the real deal in a decade too.
