Rushing a frat as a second semester junior

by: Rey

Hey guys, I’m transferring to UT in the spring of the 2023 semester. I’m a junior currently, and I’m a double major as well. This means that I’ll likely be at UT for another 2.5-3 years. Is still possible for me to rush a top fraternity at UT? Like is it possible for me to say yes I’m a junior but I’m here for another 2.5-3 years. Does this increase my chances to get into a top frat? I’m transferring from a school where the frat scene isn’t huge like UTs, so I just want to get a gist of how competitive it is. I have been recruited heavily at the school I’m transferring over from (AU) and have some experience with rushing.

If you have 2.5 to 3 years left, I wouldn’t recommend that you call yourself a Junior, that will hurt your chances. This Greek System is pretty hypocritical when it comes to pledging Sophomores and Juniors, the “Top Tier” doesn’t blink an eye on taking 15 or more ACC Freshman pledges per Fall class that they keep off the books for awhile but “draws the line” on taking a Junior who is actually enrolled at UT. Fake elitism in action, but no one ever calls them out on this.

The Pretty White Girl (PWG) is going extinct.
They are America's rarest most endangered human species.
America's smallest minority group. 😑

PWGs are @ 1 in 15 in this Spring's sorority PCs.
It was 1 in 3 ten years ago.

It is speciesism, NOT racism.

Take many pictures of them, so we can remember what they looked like... 🦄

Top frats here don’t have spring rush. Mid rank do however. Also if you actually have 3 more years here absolutely lie and say you are a freshman or sophomore. Obviously if u wait till next fall say soph but either way a junior is going to have a rlly tough time (I don’t think you will get a bid)

Look into joining SigEp.

SigEp has abolished rush and pledging using the award winning Balanced Man Program. The BMP aligns perfectly with year-round recruitment through a four year college experience. And it is simple to understand. Self-paced challenges allow for members to enter and exit challenges at their own pace. This also means there is never hazing. Let's say you are recruited in early February of your junior year -- then you just join other members in the Phi challenge who joined last Fall and have already completed eleven of the eighteen Sigma Challenge meetings. You join the rest of the members in the Phi challenge for the remaining seven meetings. If you have not attained Epsilon level by the end of the Spring semester of your junior year, you can complete the challenge asynchronously using the game-changing Balanced Man Program App to unlock the Epsilon level and continue to make progress towards graduating with the rank of Brother Mentor.
