DG actually lost good girls to all these houses in the last couple years. They seem to have had some rush list errors and such several times in recent history. I've heard girls being totally confused and saying that someone wasn't supposed to get cut who did anyway.

Wondering the same thing - is it pretty easy to get into those (excluding sdt) without knowing any actives? Getting told rush is a crapshoot without this

none are easy to get into except maybe SDT. Even AZD and KD make lots of cuts. DG and ADPi cut heavy for grades/resume and APhi and AXO cut heavy for looks/resume. You have to know someone to get into any of the others.

How important are recommendations/letters of support for these houses?

rec letters aren't as important as you think they are.
speaking as someone who got into one of the mentioned sororities, with 0 rec letters and with a blurry cropped prom photo as my picture.

Sorry but you're an exception or you might have had one but didn't know about it.

Almost all the houses will cut you first round if you don't have at least one letter.

What if we only have a recommendation & no letters of support for a house? Especially for the ones that cut more based on grades & resume. Will I still have a big chance of being cut by them because of not having LOSs even if I have the grades & leadership?

You need the rec form, not a letter. Letters don't really matter.

Aim low, that's the UT attitude! How in hell are you going to make it through this university? It's already got your confidence shot, and you anxious, and you have yet to step foot on campus for day one....good luck. The greek introduction is tough, the school is much much tougher. Be ready.

The whole process is strange. You could be gorgeous intelligent poised with a killer personality but you will lose out to some mediocre looking psycho from the rich part of town. Get rec letters and hope for the best
