Out of state legacy

by:

Hi! Currently a junior in high school strongly considering UT. I have a 3.9 at the moment, great extra curriculars, AP classes, etc. My mom was a Theta at a school in the northeast, and we live in NJ. Do I have any chance at Theta? Do they still consider legacies? TIA!

if your mom wasnt a theta at UT then it doesn’t matter. only matters if they went to UT

Theta got rid of legacy status so unless your mom is a heavily involved Texas theta legacy that doesn’t matter. Doesn’t mean you couldn’t get theta at the end of the week but you won’t automatically get a bid just because your mom was a theta, and that’s for any university with a theta chapter
