Which fraternity pledge process should I avoid?

by:

I’m looking to pledge in the fall but my course load is quite heavy. I understand the importance of pledging but I’m also not willing to do anything truly disgusting or life threatening. Without giving away details (obviously) who should I avoid? Specifically wondering about Pike and Ksig.

Pledging any large house like pike or ksig will require time commitments. I am in one of the two. I will tell you that in my experience they always put school work as the #1 priority. That is, if you had class or a test etc this was always a valid excuse to miss meetings.

I completely understand. I have a few friends in Ksig. My only concern is whether Pike pledgeship is going to be brutal.

only the top 3-4 fraternities will have “brutal” pledgeship tbh

How does pike compare to that? I’m ready for a pledge ship but I don’t want cement poured on me either.

I know I won’t get details but I just want to know who to avoid so I don’t waste my time or anyone else’s.

Pike pledgeship is weak AF LMAO. If it was difficult they would have already commented bragging about it.

there is a direct correlation between social tier and difficulty of pledgeship

Avoid FIJI and RHO (but if you’re asking, you weren’t going to get a bid there anyway)

SigEp is committed to being a different kind of fraternity – one that recognizes the importance of the out-of-classroom experience and is committed to making that experience the safest and most empowering part of a college male’s life. SigEp is unique in that our brotherhood and all fraternity events are free by choice of all vestiges of archaic processes of "pledging." The brothers feel that the brotherhood we are constantly striving to build does not require that members "prove" their masculinity. The chapter also works to encourage other fraternities toward eradicating dangerous and illegal activities for members.

#3 is absolutely true. Sigma Phi Epsilon is not concerned with proving their masculinity. Or masculinity of any kind. Sig Ep is UTs only testosterone-free fraternity.
