Bad idea to join a small/dying frat?
by: smallIs it a bad idea to accept a bid from a frat that is shrinking/really small like Phi Delt? Would suck to have it die before I even graduate.

I'd agree with the post above recommending to consider AEPI or Beta as top of the bottom tiers.
The quality of the guys in the other bottom tiers are generally a drop-off below that and have had some issues in the past few years with members being creepy (such as Lambda Chi).

Yeah in some sense you have to feel a bit sorry for the Phi Delt guys. They're not bad people at all, just got screwed over from the housing side of things when they lost the old Acacia house. I think that's one of the problems with UT- since housing is so expensive in Austin, it's very hard for these chapters who lose their housing to rebuild, as they have a drop in members after that. Phi Delt still has strong alumni support at UT but I'm not sure that's enough to help them re-establish at some point.
