Do good fraternities take second semester sophomores?

Didn't get a bid anywhere I wanted. Don't really feel like paying thousands to join a dying chapter. Should I rerush or give up? Does anyone have suggestions on alternatives if they do not?

Bro ofc they do. All of the top tiers will look at you if you have some connections and they see you at a few events during the school year. Just be cool and they'll like you

I misread your question. No top tiers spring rush but some stable middle tiers do. Check those out.

From my experience I got dropped by my top choices the first time and didn’t accept any bids. I went through the next fall and accepted a bid to one who dropped me last time. The numbers don’t always work in our favor so definitely try it again.
