This right here is a great example of why you don’t go to Greekrank for info. Houses above quota are not eligible to give out COBs

You can COBb I’d you are below total. In plain English if you are smaller than the average sorority size.
Let say Panhellenic says the average size at 250 and you have 244 members. You can COB up to six new members.

Mine is one listed above and is considered top tier but someone said they “knew” we gave them out and our pledge class was somehow bigger than quota.

Not sure how that happens but we definitely did not.

Usually, it takes a bit to give out COBs. They have nothing to do with making quota. Girls sometimes go inactive senior year or graduate early which brings total membership down by a few. Usually between 2-4 spots might be open in some houses each semester. But a sorority doesn’t have to take new members (COBs). It’s completely the new membership/rush committees choice. So if they have girls they are interested in and have openings, they’ll extend the bid. But as I said above it takes a few weeks to just know if you are eligible because it has nothing to do with rush quotas.
