fiji vs. sae?

I will be attending UT in the fall, and come from one of the feeder high schools in Houston for FIJI and SAE. I know that I should rush both fraternities to find out where I fit in better, but I wanted to know what the primary differences are between the two houses before going into rush? Is one clearly better than the other, or just two different vibes? Can someone describe both fraternities' vibes?

Dues go towards meals whether you eat there or not. Dinner and lunch M-F. That is the case for the top 8 fraternities other than EX

Fiji guys are nicer and smarter and Rhos guys are better looking and more into partying. Rho has tons-like I have heard 37- of ACC guys this year. Assume Fiji has a few but haven’t really heard that. I know Fiji has a lot of guys in honors programs if that matters at all. They seem to be short too. I enjoy both for different reasons. Very different feel.....I would say SAE and Sig Ep are more similar and Fiji and KA are. Just my opinion.

If I had a brother rushing next year I would say visit all and see who you like. Very different vibes. With that being said, I would probably encourage Fiji and Sig Ep if they were really social and big personalities. I really think SAE is fun but no national name and so many ACC guys who won’t end up getting into UT is just weird. I think KA and Kappa Sig are both really nice boys too just quieter. Phi psi is a fit for a lot of guys too. Just depends on your personality. Everyone will enjoy the experience better if you are with guys you really like.

well the main differences between them is that Fiji is top house, although their PC 18 has some weird dudes and seems to be falling, and SAE (Texas Rho now) is kicked off and all the sororities I have talked to don't like hanging with them except for theta. SAE is falling hard and currently isn't in the top 3 (Fiji, Sigep, KA) anymore. now that KA has back on campus for a couple years, they are attracting quality guys and their PC 18 is probably the best on campus, and they are well on their way to reclaiming top spot like they have been historically. Sigep has been solid for quite a few years now and their PC 18 did pretty well although they can be kinda seen as all the same type of guy with no variety, but still did quite well and one of the best overall houses on campus. if I were you, I would rush Fiji, sigep or KA.

I agree....those are my three favorites and they are very different!
Fiji: fun, nice, smart, and rich. Not as good looking is only down side. Really good guys though.
Sig Ep: fun and better looking. Maybe not quite as nice as other two but fine.
KA better socially than any below this level but not as good as Fiji, Rho, or Sig Ep. Nice guys just quieter.
Kappa Sig below KA....very quiet but nice
Rho is fun and good looking but no fraternities or sororities really like them except Theta. I suspect rush next few years might be rough for them for any guy who thinks about future connections

KA needs to chill. Sig ep, Fiji, and even Rho are still way ahead of yall and will be for the foreseeable future. KA pretty much collected the kids who didn't get bids from those 3 houses...
