We don’t need another sorority.

Land prices are crazy expensive anywhere near campus to build a chapter house.

Last time anyone tried to (re)colonize was Alpha Gam in the late 80s. KD recolonized/reorganized in early 80s, even though they will deny it. (Friend’s mom in their 1981? pledge class.) Everyone so mean to both of them, why would anyone want to try to colonize here? Alpha Gam closed and KD has been bottom quarter ever since.

Houses that were here at one time and closed—AGD, GPhiB, DPhiE—all in the 80s/early 90s.

Years ago, like decades ago...AOII, DZ were here. Maybe others.

We have plenty

Not going to happen. The sororities are not supportive of each other. And house sizes are not big enough to justify a new one.

The ridiculous fake ranking system just needs to be outmoded. There are plenty of sororities here, but girls just aren’t sure that they feel good about being in them all the time. It truly is sad because trust me the top sororities don’t always have the best sisterhood. They get lazy and they don’t actually have events to help the sorority girls grow closer to one another. It’s sad and ridiculous. Many other schools have a much better sorority life.

When over half the girls going through rush think they’re too good for half the chapters and would rather drop than pledge a non-Big 6, adding more chapters won’t help anyone.

My guess is most of the PNM’s who go through rush and are open to a bid from any chapter - get bids. Those are rarely the girls whining about our Greek system.

Adding another chapter just makes every pledge class smaller unless a ton more girls start going through rush and finishing the week. And that’s not going to help anything.

The only reason new sororities get added is if there’s a need for one because of numbers but some houses don’t ever make quota thus we won’t be getting one. It would be a nice change up tho
