Thinking about dropping to COB or snap?

This is the part of rush where tons of pnms start asking about COB and snap bids and wondering if they should drop and get a “better” house that way. 1) DO NOT drop thinking you will get a snap bid. It just won’t happen, especially if the chapter you want already cut you. 2) COB can be an option but please compare your Pref invitations with the chapters who have been COB eligible...you’re probably looking at the Same options & honestly you’ll have more fun pledging with the big fall pledge class.
Also - COB classes <5 are usually bids given directly and discreetly to friends (ie, KAT). Bigger COB classes usually mean the chapter held invitation-only rush events including Pref.
Based on Spring GPA reports, these are the chapter who took spring pledge classes the last few years:
2019 - ADPi (13), AXO (11), AXD (7), APhi (2), KAT (2)
2018 - AXO (16)
2017 - APhi, AXD (no #’s provided)
2016 - KD, ADPi, APhi (no #s provided)
Spring 2019 Total (2020 not avail) was 256. Any chapters starting the semester at 256 & below would have been eligible to continue to COB. 8 chapters were eligible and 5 took new members via COB.

Fall records are too hard to figure out because the NM’s from formal are mixed in with COB NM’s. Spring records are obvious who COB’s.
APhi did start F19 as the second smallest chapter and had by far the most NM’s last fall but can’t confirm it was actually 25. Don’t know how many NM’s they got in fall formal that finished the semester + additional COB’s.

Like I said, Spring 2020 not available yet on GL website but yes, APhi has done COB in 3 of the last 4 Spring semesters that are on the GL site.

How did APhi have the 2nd smallest chapter?? I mean, anyone can come on here and say they had 5 cobs but clearly there is some big fibbing going on so it sounds more like sour grapes. Great chance you are an older woman who has it out for them. Never fails. Some ancient person can't stand their nationwide success. I have plenty of APhi friends and they are sweet, welcoming AND really attractive.
Stop bashing them because they are attractive. Unbelievable. Same with Zeta! Zeta has always been solid but my aunt was at UT way back when and remembers when APhi was bottom of the bottom. They have gone way up while other groups have dropped. I get it. That's gotta be infuriating for groups that dropped but get over it and stop fabricating stories. APhi and Zeta have great sisterhoods, beautiful houses, pretty girls that are fun loving AND really really pretty. That's it!

Hi. You ask, how did APhi have the 2nd smallest chapter? It’s literally IN the post that you posted.
APhi started F19 with 170 members. AXiD was the only chapter smaller than APhi (can’t count SDT).
Facts are not criticism. I know there are girls out there tonight who are dying to get invited to APhi’s Pref. I know there are girls out there who were crushed that APhi cut them. And maybe somewhere in the middle are PNM’s who didn’t have to go back to APhi because they had other options and now they don’t have them....so for those PNM’s, if they’re out there tonight wondering what chapters might be COB options, APhi is likely to be one - and a good one at that! The highest “tier” sorority that is usually a COB option. A lot of PNM’s would kill for that right now.
