COB and Snap bids

Snap bids are the “unicorn” bid - everyone talks about them but reality is that almost every chapter makes quota every year. Don’t count on snaps.
For COB, the chapters below total (either median or average chapter size depending on which calc UPC uses) can participate if they want.
Based on Spring GPA reports, these are the chapter who took spring pledge classes the last few years:
2019 - ADPi (13), AXO (11), AXD (7), APhi (2), KAT (2)
2018 - AXO (16)
2017 - APhi, AXD (no #’s provided)
2016 - KD, ADPi, APhi (no #s provided)
Spring 2019 Total (2020 not avail) was 256. Any chapters 256 & below would have been eligible to continue to COB after rush.
ZTA - 269
AEPhi - 265
DDD - 263
KKG - 262
APhi - 258
DG - 258
———
KAT - 256
KD - 256
XO - 256
ADPi - 253
AXO - 252
PBP - 248
AXiD - 141
Over the past few years, DG has been as big as the #2 largest chapter in 2018 and not ever below total.
So it’s possible - but not probable- they might miss quota by a few and need to snap bid But it’s highly unlikely they’ll be COB eligible.

Just reporting what is on the official Panhellenic GPA report. So either XO didn’t or they didn’t tell UPC about their new members (a big no-no to falsify Chapter size records).

Exactly. There is so much false info floating around and it is all public info on the Greek Life website.

Those numbers are from 2019 spring rush. I know chio did 2020 spring rush so that’s probably why, I know many friends who got chio spring bids. And the aphi part is not a lie because those numbers were from spring 2019 and they had many senior drop which caused the 30 cobs to be necessary. They also had too small of a pc ‘19 on bid day which wouldn’t be expressed in these numbers.

Like I said, this info is just based on what is now publicly available (no spring 2020 on Greek Life site yet).
APhi COB in Fall 2019 but can’t tell how many because NM class is mixed in with COB NM’s. And APhi COB during 3 of the last 4 spring semesters....so a PNM hoping for COB chances with APhi would be within reality. That’s why I made this post. A PNM hoping for ZTA (Just as an example) to COB will be disappointed...
