Who are the historically relevant fraternities?

by: Yes

Every few years fraternities move around in rankings depending on the quality of their pledge classes, getting/losing their house, scandals, etc. Who has historically been important, or at least relevant fraternities from the past 30-40 years? Like of course Fiji and SAE have been important in past years, but what about the others? ZBT wasn't always top right? Was Delt relevant when Mcconaughey was here? What about Ksig, Machi, KA?

The better question: Who is relevant now?
Fiji
ZBT/Sig Ep (although Sig ep has had some recent bad issues)
KA
K Sig/Delt
These are the ones where you see the top 6.

Relatives and alumni mostly. And just getting a feel for the vibe from things like chapter scrapbooks, old composites, trophies etc.

probably too long ago to be of interest now, but Pike was the fraternity with a lot of football players in the 1960s. Had guys on the national championship team. Pike was probably top 4 or 5 up through the mid-1970s.

Pike was never top tier.

Some older UT relatives in different frats told me almost all relevant houses had several football players through the ‘60s-70s. Hoops too. They competed for varsity athletes.
