what's the deal with adpi

by: wondering

They're one of the oldest chapters at Texas, they have strong nationals, a nice house, a few gorgeous girls (at least some of the older ones). Why is it that they've struggled and had such a random recruitment? You'd think they'd be doing a lot better.

ADPi has not struggled..? They get a diverse pledge class if that's what you mean by random but there are a ton of funny, down to earth girls in it. Not your typical sorority girls but a strong sisterhood no less

Have always been a strong middle tier house here, more into grades and sisterhood than partying

NONE of the sororities at UT struggle except for maybe SDT but that's only because they don't have a house yet. It's very hard to get into ANY sorority at UT. ADPi and a few others just seem to try to get the smart girls.

............what is your definition of struggle? Struggle at most schools is trying to stay on campus. ADPi has no problem doing that. They've been here forever and will be here forever. They get a different type of girl - smart, middle class girls - doesn't mean they're struggling.

ADPI was not first sorority created. Look up KAT, KKG, and PiPhi and definition if sorority

nothing in pledgeship? ADPi was founded in 1851. Pi Phi was founded in 1867. Theta and Kappa were founded in 1870.

nothing? There's several distinctions. Theta's the first women's greek letter fraternity. GPhi is the first one to actually use sorority. ADPi was first in terms of a secret society, stemming from the Adelphean Society.

just see they have different people in charge of recruitment than other chapters. They don't really have any kind of competitive edge in recruiting the typical attractive girl, but they instead focus on academics/service that kind of crap

..."crap". Academics and Service are top priorities at UT and beyond.
