What is Sigma Chi like?
by: yo yo yoI see tons and tons of posts about pretty much every other fraternity that people call "Top Tier" but nothing about Sigma Chi beyond their housing issue. Can someone tell me about them? How are they compared to other chapters that people rush across?

Oh ok. I was just going off the ranking posted on this site. I don't know anyone in Greek at UT so i'm kinda figuring it out as I go.

I’ve personally enjoyed rushing Sigma Chi and genuinely vibe with a lot of their guys in PC 18 and 19. Machi is a solid upper-mid tier amongst other big houses like Kappa Sig and Delt. They wont have a house until their renovations finish later in the fall or early spring, but that doesn’t seem to be a problem for many rushees anyways.

Every year it's the same thing about the house being done in the fall or early spring. That house will never get built as long as their alumni hates them and they have PCs of 25.

judging by pike's construction, i dont think spring is a deceitful answer at all. i expect it to be done in spring before roundup

Ok that sounds reasonable, but a few guys in Phi Psi told me they didn’t even have the permit to construct yet and it would be over 2 years. We’re they telling the truth? I know they just started tearing The house down.

lmao phi psi would. phi psi is mad because kids go machi over them despite having a 26 million dollar house. difference between a sigma chi and a phi psi is that a sigma chi would never say something like that about phi psi. That's a huge red flag

Rushed in 2017 and machi told me they’d have a new house by the end of my freshman year. Currently a senior and they haven’t even fully demolished the old one. It’ll take a few years

Whoa you said since 2017??? I like the guys but I don’t want to be house less my whole time at UT. I wish I could just find out the whole truth without bias

You’re not going to get a straight answer here. Look at it like this, everyone is basically a salesman trying to sell you a product, their fraternity. They will lie, exaggerate the truth, talk bad about other fraternities, etc. The only people that truly know this information would be alumni on the housing board, and even they keep a tight lip about what they are doing. Truth is, don’t go by what you are told will happen, go by what you already see.

Thanks, that is a good point. I guess I don't really know what is going to happen. I did drive by to try to see what was happening and they finally did start tearing it down, but I don't know anything else.

i dont think a single sigma chi uses this site. only bottom tier ksigs and phi psis care enough to self rank.
