Sig Ep top in the nation? Try SAE, Sigma Chi and then Kappa Sig if you're talking nationally. Sig Ep is not top 5 nationally.

And top three in Texas are Fiji, then SAE, then Phi Delt, followed by a bit of a drop to Kappa Sig. Sig Ep is top at UT, but they're middle of the middle at Tech, A&M and TCU, lost their chapter at SMU, are barely lower end of the middle tier at Baylor, and don't even have chapters at the remaining semi-decent Greek schools in Texas like SFA and Texas State. So basically one great chapter and 3 decent ones at the relevant universities to Greek life in state. They're still probably with KA, Sigma Chi and Delt for the next four in state, but definitely not top 3.

Why do you have Phi Delt as a top three in the state of Texas? I don't see it. Top 5 but not top 3.

Top tier at Tech, TCU and SMU. Only SAE and Fiji have more strength. Kappa Sig is a close 4th with top tier chapters at UT and TCU, and an upper mid chapter at Tech. After that, probably Delt (top of mid at UT and A&M, arguably top at Tech, top at Texas State and Middle at Baylor), Sig Ep (top at UT, mid at Tech, TCU, and A&M), Sigma Chi (top at TCU, near top at SMU, upper mid UT, and middle at A&M), and KA (top at A&M and Texas State, mid at Tech). After that, it's a tossup between some of the other large national fraternities ATO (middle at UT/Tech/Baylor, top at Texas State), Pike (middle UT/Tech, top SMU), Pi Kapp (middle TCU/Baylor, top Texas State), and Beta (near top at A&M, present and growing at Baylor and TCU). A couple of the big national fraternities don't have any notable chapters at big Texas schools like Sigma Nu, DKE, DX, OX, and Phi Psi (except at UT).

100% agree

I would put Delt as number 5 and KA as 6. After that I think it's more of a toss up (ATO, Beta, Pike, Sigma Chi)

Fraternities with a big national footprint but not big in Texas (Sigma Nu, DKE, OX, DX Phi Psi)

It's not really possible to say that SAE is conclusively #1. Fiji is the top house at Texas, top 2 at SMU, A&M and Tech. SAE is the lower end of top at Tech a good way behind Phi Delt and Fiji, top tier at UT, top at TCU and SMU. Fiji is almost gone at Baylor and SAE is falling fast, while Kappa Sig and Phi Delt are both rising there. Phi Delt is a step from getting thrown off at SMU, but back before the fall of their old UT chapter, they were uncontested top of the state with the #1 house at UT, Tech, TCU and possibly SMU back then.

I agree with most of what your saying, and your very knowledgeable about the state's greek life environment.

However since rankings change within the top tier year to year I'm not going to assign higher points to let's say UT Fiji and SAE over the other two just because they have a lead. The points are just meant to differentiate relatively.
