Phi Delt is big nationally but small here at UT. They got their charter pulled about 15 years ago and were never really able to make a comeback.

I am a senior planning to come nest year. Do all freshmen who hope to get in a top fraternity live in Austin and go to summer school before freshman year? Or do they just come up for roundup and a few weekends in July? Any week I should choose for orientation?

You don't need to be in Austin all summer for rush. The more that you are here, though, the better. Come to Roundup and your orientation session, and rush captains should keep you updated on what's going on throughout the summer otherwise. From there you just figure out what else you can come for. Some things will be more important than others, but it will be obvious which events are worth the trip if you're seeking a bid.

I'll most likely be attending UT next year and i have a few friends at KA/texas omicron. What is anyones opinion on rushing there especially after all the stuff that has happened in the past couple years

1) I wouldn't bother with KA
2) Rankings will not be the same next summer as they are now, check back in 9 months

KA/Omicron is only getting worse. Kappa Sig will probably get better but they're not that good now. The top 5 at UT is:

FIJI
SAE
Sig Ep
Delt
Kappa Sig
