fiji is a top fraternity at Texas...but stop trolling this website-self ranks 5's and give 1's across the board to every other fraternity...this is expected from ksig but really?

I heard KA is having a pledgeclass now and signed up like 25 kids on their first weekend. They had the best Austin state by far.

Frankly, I don't understand why anyone would be interested at this point... while the lifestyle is certainly fun in college, the whole point of joining a fraternity is to be a part of something larger, something meaningful, something you can be proud of and be a part of for the rest of your life. At this point, Texas Omicron is just a drinking club with a nice house.

And besides, who in their right mind would want to be part of an organization on the brink of collapse? It's like reserving your state room on the Titanic.

I have friends in Omicron and I don't have anything against them as an organization or otherwise. The fact of the matter is, though, that without KA national support, they can't use KA's symbols, pledgeship curriculum, initiation ritual etc. Which means their pledges will have an entirely alcohol-and-hazing-centric membership. While that's all well and good, I get a lot more out of the other, more significant benefits to fraternity membership.

Most people don't realize how much damage they're doing to the UT Greek system right now.

It's bad enough that they've already dug a grave for themselves, but a pledgeship like you described will most likely lead to more trouble. And that will just give the geeds up in the tower more reason to add additional rules and regulations to the other chapters on campus. Organizations like the Daily Texan already hate Greeks; Texas Omicron is simply adding fuel to the fire here.

I couldn't agree more and all of those fraternities pledgeship's are a complete joke (except KA). None of those kids could even image handling our pledeships
