Rushing as a junior
by: ut 22Is it even worth it to rush a sorority as a junior? Im transferring from smu but idk if ut sororities give bids to upperclassmen

I want to tell the truth: it will be hard. A lot of sororities are hesitant to take girls beyond sophomore age. That’s the reality of rush. But, I will encourage you to rush anyways. If you find a place that truly loves you, they won’t care that you’re a junior. Give it a shot. There’s nothing to lose. I will also encourage you to reach out to anyone in UT Greek life to tell them you’re interested. It won’t hurt. It can only help. Good luck!

I’m not for sure on other houses, but I know for my sorority juniors don’t count towards our quota. So if there’s a cool, friendly junior we find, we definitely end up rushing her really hard. So I would say you might even have a better chance than normal coming in as a junior, hope this helps!

smu has spring rush so after my first semester I had already made friends and I didn’t feel the need. I didn’t want to rush unless I was all in but now I want to be able to make those connections esp because don’t know that many people at ut :)
