How many PNMs are there and how many is each house hoping to pledge?

There are about 1215 PNMs and quota will be based on how many girls make it to pref. I am guessing in the 70's somewhere.

It was actually 1093 last year. This year the incoming freshman are 1,000 less than last year, so this is actually a huge increase/

Alabama had a record 2009 registered for rush this year...quota was 120

How many do most Sororties cut down to in the first round? Is there a requirement or suggestion? Will most girls get 10 houses to visit for the next round?

Every house is different, the ones with high return rates have to cut more than half, the ones with lower rates get more invites. It is just how the system works.

How are the "high return rate" sororities doing their cuts to get down to half? I have heard that Looks, Zip Code, Legacy, and Connections within the sorority are the biggest factors. How much does the information packet and reference letters play into it? Beside Pi Beta Phi, how about the face to face converstions at the open house?

Baylor had 1000 girls rush last year
8 Panhellenic Sororities
80-90 Member Pledge Classes
13,000 Undergraduate

SMU had 800 girls rush last year
14 Panhellenic Sororities
49-60
7000 Undergraduate

Rec letters don't play any part this far into the game. However, the target lists each sorority made before recruitment started still play the biggest role. Those lists take everything into consideration including the recs.

u of sc had over 1600 girls rushing this year

ole miss has 1700 signed up and their rush isn't until October 1st. rumors are going around that quota is going to be 135
