I would say Wranglers are coming up. They're somewhere between Spurs(high-end) and Tejas(lower end) It's like, 1.Cowbowys, 2.Spurs. 3.Wranglers. 4.Tejas

Tejas at least has guys who are involved in McCombs and leaders in places. It's more exclusive than Wranglers as well.

has a good group of prominent alumni for such a small organization. They don't need to be or wantto be compared to greek organization nor do they even attempt to emulate being greek. They are a lot more similar to east coast college mens clubs that exist only locally.

I don't think you can be both simultaneously. Doesn't mean u can't be tejas or in frat then deactivate to be in the other.

sure you can be in both with Wranglers. I am pretty sure Tejas is mutually exclusive though.

Is a cousin of The Machine at Baja and Skull and Bones at Yale, which makes them the best of the non-Greek men's groups.

Not really. The Machine at Bama is solely populated by Greek organizations and was actually founded as Theta Nu Epsilon which was a chapter of Skull & Bones, which makes their founding directly related. Skull & Bones is a very exclusive senior society at Yale where they go around and select a small group of seniors by "tapping" them, and which has historically drawn a lot of guys from the Greek system. I don't think Tejas bears much resemblance to either group.

I take it back, it looks like Tejas is a distant second-degree relative of Skull & Bones, but it's whole model is so distinct it's hard to compare them.

The method might be different but the goals are the same. Look at past SG presidents and other leaders who have looked after UT's interests.

Tejas is originally under theta nu epsilon as well.. with relations to Ivy Final Clubs that go back to the early 20th century, like just look it up lol

Go for sweethearts or spirits.
Spirits have historically been an organization with more influence, however, Sweethearts give them a good run for their money. At the moment, there is no clear winner and you can't go wrong with either. Choose whichever fits you best =)

Maybe you're interested in the feminist perspective?

Texas Spirits fall more in the category of new feminism. Women who are fully capable but have an appreciation for men as well.

Orange Jackets are more for those interested in classic feminism. That's not to say they don't have an appreciation for men, but a good portion of 'modern' classical feminists engage in a little bit of misandry, which is counter productive in this day in age.

The other organizations all create great women, but these two really stand out in my eyes.

Mix with the spirits? How close is their relationship?

That all might be true and respect to your organization, but I wouldn't say your pledge (or the appropriate word for your new members) process is the hardest. Fiji, Omicron, ATO, SigEp and Delt all have harder processes than you.

Delt's pledgeship is a joke.

Did you get denied admission to Wranglers or something? For you to come at us like that shows your ignorance, and you've obviously never been to our parties or can read a magazine that clearly said Wranglers is the best looking group on campus. Plus many of our guys had bids to fraternities but didn't want to be like everyone else. Also our Mavericks do more than any fraternity pledge, you don't know the process. Ignorance speaks for itself, though.

I don't know where you pledged, but it sounds like they didn't haze you right.
