How many people have died at the Sig Ep house? Have they been killing people?

Bad policy or not.. know that frats HAVE survived at schools where these laws are already at. And yes, it is the way of the future, and yes, greek life can survive.

There are fewer and fewer young men coming to UT who are interested in joining a fraternity. There is a massive group of potential new members growing each year that appear likely to join chapters with substance-free facility policies. Our substance-free house will help create a new pool of potential brothers who are attracted to our values and attracted to our fraternity for the RIGHT reasons.

Policies like this are well intentioned by the chapter reps that vote for them. But then the ultra-liberal sjw national office tries to interpret them beyond the original intent, and turn them into trip-wires to shut their largest and strongest chapters down. Self defeating.

Constant virtue-signaling. A few months back they announced they welcomed transgenders. Really? How's that going to work in a traditional men's social fraternity.

When I heard the news I was really impressed to think that the Frat mentality and reputation might have evolved…but after reading most of the comments I see that evolution did not happen. Sad….. when what you thought were intelligent people showing the world that change can happen, actually show their own insecurities and lack of intelligence. I was going to share this with other leaders but the comments are too embarrassing…..for you. Keep up or fall behind, your choice.

SigEp has been a leader in cleaning up the worst aspects of fraternities. This substance-frée house policy is another positive step. Their balanced man program and residential learning centers are terrific. I just hope they ease up on the gender confusion.

A substance-free house is a good idea. Getting there without shutting down half the chapters is going to be the challenge.
This is pretty much cold turkey. PhiPsi did it but made an exception for beer. Beta made an exception for 6 events attended by alums. This may need some tinkering.

It is the hazing that is going to get the UT chapter in trouble.....be it alcohol, cocaine, electrical shocks etc.....

Alums where you at.....common knowledge in Greek life....that is what you should be watching

SigEp's substance-free policy helps ensure that our chapter house does not become haven for dangerous and illegal underage drinking. Our chapter home will be an environment in which it is easy to do right and hard to do wrong. The policy makes our chapter facility safer for members, guests, parents, resident scholars and faculty allies. A substance-free house will attract top recruits to SigEp.

What about Electrical shocks?

If you are really a Sig Ep alum you should be paying attention to the real issue rather than promoting a stupid policy....
