No one hates them. There is just some lunatic on this site that goes nuts on Sigma Chi. Obsessed.

it has alot to do with how fast they've moved up since being back on campus and their success at RoundUp
With that being said they will not be top tier any time soon
and they are a bit try-hardish and some come of douche now more than ever, where the Kappa Sigs are a bit more humble when it comes to their new found status

Sigma Chi isn't that bad. They're one of the stronger fraternities here now, but unlike Kappa Sig who had a similarly spectacular rise recently, they are kind of douchey about it and haven't quite reached top tier.

Nobody is saying they're bad. Everyone agrees they are a solid fraternity. Just people tend to like k sig, delt, omicron etc. more than them. Think of Lil wayne, he is a popular rapper but a lot of people don't like him b/c of the type of rapper he is.

seems to be a culture where no one likes the fraternity that puts out an extra effort, so they instantly get a 'try-hard' label. Yeah, some of the guys are tools, probably more than other fraternities, but considering they only came back a few years ago, and probably have some of the best parties on a consistent basis, it's pretty impressive.

also had a decent advantage in that they had an alright house in a good location to move back into. Not to say that it's anything compared to the Big 4 or Omicron houses, but given the fact that some half-decent fraternities have trouble getting anything that looks better than a middle class family home around campus because developers seem to outbid everyone, it was pretty fortunate.
