does rush end when school starts?

Not really, because youre already in touch with that one. But thats just the nature of greek life here if youre not in contact with big ones rn or have a bid you might be outta luck.

OUT of state kids get cut some slack. Just keep reaching out and see what events are goin on when u move on campus. If u really want you could email rush chairs and see what’s goin on at different frats. Top top tiers are gonna be tough February out of state but mid Top to upper mid will be chill

SigEp's award winning Balanced Man Program aligns perfectly with year-round recruitment at UT. Self-paced challenges allow for members to enter and exit challenges at their own pace. Let's say you are recruited as a new member in October. You would just then join brothers already in the Sigma challenge who joined in the summer and have completed two of the eight Sigma Challenge meetings. As a new brother you would join the rest of the members in the Sigma challenge for the remaining six meetings. If you have not attained Phi status by the end of the semester, you will attend the first three Sigma challenge meetings in the spring with other new brothers recently recruited and then make progress to unlock and start the Phi Challenge.

The Balance Man program the use makes Sig Ep the "sorority of fraternities." In other words, they don't have a pledge process or hazing, so you become a full member with letters as soon as you get your bid.

so if I've only been to a two events for one frat and I'm out of state do I have no shot?
