need help with college decision

by:

I’m a UT undergrad and MBA legacy but am drawn to tcu and smu bc I think a 40k undergrad population is crazy huge and I’d perform better in a smaller environment. I know this is a biased forum but do y’all think I’ll objectively lose opportunities and do worse career wise if I don’t attend UT?

Yes the connections you gain from being at Texas are good but that doesn’t mean you are worse off and will not succeed elsewhere. SMU and TCU are good schools, it’s what you make of it. Go where you feel best fits YOU because you don’t want to have 4 years of regret or what ifs

Most important is what you put into your college experience not where you go. Though by not coming to Texas you’ll miss out on a football natl championship!

Wow. Where to begin.
SMU is a good school. TCU, not so much.
Texas has a large student body but you only feel that when you’re at a football game. You walk across campus and see people that you know. You get to know the people in your classes and major. It honestly does not feel as big as it is. Giving up to Austin culture and The University of Texas because you think it might be too big is not a good move but that’s your decision

Is the chance of me getting a job in Austin still good if I go to school in DFW? A ton of people rave about austin culture but I almost think it’d be better to experience it as an adult rather than a college student

I have a hard time believing anyone would even consider TCU over UT. SMU maybe. But TCU? no.

If you're talking about an MBA, I would definitely choose UT. If you're thinking about transfering, IDK because idk your personal situation. I don't think having so many people on campus is so bad; you get to pick who you hang out with anyways.
