why do pnms hate being non-big6?

I am in a mid tier frat here and maybe it has to with the fact that Im not a girl, so I’ll never understand the thought process. But seems like pnms live and die for big6.
For frats, yeah there is a huge difference between the top tier and middle tier in everyt aspect. You can tell right away which tier a guy is in when you meet one. But for sororities here, mid tier ones like Axo Dg Aphi Kd all got great houses and equally and sometimes even more attractive girls than the Big6. If you meet an avrage sorority girl here, it is really hard to guess which tier she is in, unless she is a phi azd or adpi. Those three are easy to tell

Honestly during rush big six feels super important bc most of the girls in big six are better at the rush process——that means small talk etc. but just bc someone is good at carrying a conversation over superficial things doesn’t mean they are the girls you want to be around all the time. There are great girls one every single chapter. An awful lot of really sincere, kind, smart girls but maybe a bit quiet during rush end up tons of fun once you get to know them! Rush week is just crazy and so hard not to get sucked into thinking you HAVE to be in big six. Really you don’t!

so many of my friends dropped bc they didn't get big 6 and now they're friends with so many girls in other sororities and love them!!! other sororities have great girls and fraternal connections too

in the end during rush the only thing that matters are the connections you have. if you went to a greek feeder high school like Highland Park you most likely have more connections and are automatically moved to the top of peoples list. no matter how pretty or good at conversations you are, sororities (esp big 6) already know who they're cutting before you even walk in during open house. Big 6 is not necessarily all the prettiest or best girls by any means, just means they had the connections

That is not entirely correct. Not all girls who have connections get into big six. I honestly don’t think looks matter to PKT or Chi O as much but social skills do. Lots of girls from the right camps and the big feeder schools who have a hard time with easy conversations during rush or who weren’t loved at their camp or school still get dropped. Social skills do matter except for a very few girls
