No one needs permission to do anything in college.

be fine, but it could get you in trouble for recruitment if Panhellenic or sororities finds out. I would assume they probably advise against it, but I don't know.

The only way to better your chances at recruitment is to meet people, and these means active sorority women. These women will be at these parties. Go, but realize you are being watched. Be social, drink but make it non-alcoholic (no one will go around sniffing your drink....but don't hold a bottle of water either), so that you can keep yourself in check. I assure you if you get drunk, make a scene, etc, your recruitment will end round 1. Despite what you read hear, sorority women across ALL houses get along really well and you will be the topic of conversation among them for awhile. DON'T talk negative about ANY house. That ABC you are slamming could be the roommate of the person you just met. Really common sense prevails. If you are not willing to say it in front of every sorority house president, then don't say it all. And don't hook up with anyone either. You just have no idea who was before you and if it will piss her off.

Bad idea. Even if you don't drink things can happen that make you look bad. If you haven't met members by now it's too late for that to make a difference. They're not supposed to be talking to you.

"They're not suppose to be talking to you" Ok..whatever. Silence is a rule that is bent so hard that I am surprised it is not called out more often. Go ahead and stay home which is exactly where you will be on bid night.

Lots of girls have gone bidless because of things they did at fraternity parties before rush. If some stupid freshman wants to risk a misunderstanding as a result of things that happen at a party then that's fine with me.

Sure people break the rules but people also report rush infractions like it's their religion now.
