next "top-tier" fraternity

by:

I know that generally there is considered the "Big 2" (FIJI and SAE) then below them there's Kappa Sigma and Sig Ep. Which fraternity is on track to become part of the "top tier" and form the "Big 3" or replace either FIJI or SAE? From what I have read/heard I have been lead to believe Kappa Sigma is the next rising fraternity?

Anyone thinking that there's enough room between SAE, Fiji and the other two to really make it a big 2 is probably an SAE or a Fiji. Coming from someone not in those houses, I've heard references to the big 4 from Greeks around UT, but I've never heard the big 2 mentioned anywhere except Greekrank. The only way there'll be a big 3 is if one of the big 4 falls and no one fills their spot for a while. Everyone knows Fiji and SAE are the top 2, but the big 2 is a Greekrank creation.

If one of the big 4 falls, someone will have to build a new house or somehow acquire the KA house to ever actually legitimately compete. It would probably be the big 3 for sometime

the next fraternity to join the big 2 wont be sig ep or kappa sig because they have peaked, the only rising fraternities are sigma chi and delt and because delt is in north campus, sigma chi will join the ranks of SAE and fiji next year

Kappa Sig has not peaked, and no way in hell is Sigma Chi going to join SAE or Fiji or somehow make Kappa Sig and Sig Ep fall from top tier. How can they be on level with them when you just compare the housing situation of the big 4 compared to them?

Sigma Chi is probably the middle tier fraternity that is in the best position to make the jump to top tier in the not too distant future, their social events are solid and they've got some good guys. Before they could make the jump they'd probably need, at minimum a great physical house, a higher number of wealthy members, especially from the same schools that the big four draw from, and to stop trying so hard and telling everyone how top tier they are. I personally think the whole zip code/high school thing kind of sucks, but it means that middle tier houses still get wealthy guys who are less connected and from the wrong areas/schools. As it stands, I still would put Delt above Sigma Chi, but I'd be more surprised if they can take the leap because, while they're solid, they don't have the same momentum.
