How did "gauche" brag about money, high school, or connections? She said "truly classy people". That could have been her high school English teacher or her mail carrier or the nice lady that is always helpful at the mall store. I thought her response was a good one. And I agree. PNMs should just try to look cute and well put together.

when a girl is judged on her $400 gold James Avery Ring over her $150 Kendra Scott Ring. The whole what should you wear thing to be a UT Greek Girl is a little off. Don't you dare wear that which is worth a lot more then the must wear. Go Figure! Shop at Forever 21 but not dare shop at Target. Please! Find another sorority if this is the case.

I come from a middle class family. My Rush clothes came from vintagr shops (which I shop ALL the time), Target, Forever 21, Dillards, Macys....wherever. Including a few things I already owned. I felt determined to go in and be myself without saving up to buy clothes I couldn't really afford and which didn't represent me. I did wear an adoreable Lilly dress...but was quick to point out it was vintage and I purchased it for $25 dollars at a vintage shop. The girls I shared this with thought it was cute and laughed at the story. If they judged me....well I was fine about not being their sister anyway, so it was all good.I did well in Rush and ended up in a great house, which I love. some people will judge, others won't...all within the same sorority.Just stick with what you are comfortable in and appear put together and try to relax and smile.
