snap bid
by: qwerty#2 by: Explainer
For sororities it’s when a sorority cuts too many girls during rush and they have to give bids to girls they cut previously, therefore girls that shouldn’t have gotten that sorority will get a top sorority. Lowers the quality of a PC.
For fraternitys, basically what Rho did this year lol

After pref round, when a sorority exhausts their bid lists and still doesn't match to quota, they may offer snap bids to reach quota. Snap bids go to pnm's who didn't attend that house's pref and don't have a bid from another house, either because they suicided another house and didn't get the bid or because they dropped or were released from recruitment entirely before prefs. Pnm's are more likely to get a snap from a house if they were not previously released by that house and if they made it to the sisterhood round with that house, but anything can happen. Snap bids are only given out after bid matching and before bids are opened on bid day. Pnm's accepting snaps go to bid day with everyone else and only a few people in the sorority know who got a snap bid, so there is no reason for anyone else to know unless you tell them. Snaps are few and far between, and nothing for pnm's to count on.
