by: ACLWhy are they ranked right below big six? They spring rushed last year , they snapped to quota and cobed this fall and they are smaller than any sorority except AZD and SDT. They aren’t as cute as they used to be either.What an I missing?

Girls in axo love their sorority, they don't bother anybody. COB and size aren't a reflection of a chapter as a whole. plus theres a bunch of super hot girls but more importantly are well rounded and nice. Its posts like these that bring down the morale and unity of greek life on campus

Alpha Chi sucked this year especially. Still a good house but they are not topping APhi right now.

If Tri Delta would rush like alpha phi they would be getting great pledge classes. Fantastic girls are being dropped by big six....chi o and Tri Delt bc they assume girls are going PKT and don’t bother to compete and PKT because they only have about 160 spots to offer freshmen girls. (Zeta takes their own type and isn’t a fall back for other five like people keep saying. ) instead they are rushing like Chi O and Zeta and losing. Giirls who get dropped by PKT and Chi O would be thrilled to accept a bid from Tri Delta but Tri Delt arrogantly cuts them.

Alpha Chi is a solid house. PNMs are pleased if they have them left as an option. That being said, they play it too safe and it has cost them. They def have been loosing ground to Alpha Phi recently. Both houses go for attractive girls but more PNMs want the party vibe of Alpha Phi over Alpha Chi’s good girl persona. Also, they aren’t bold during rush. They don’t expect to vie for big 6 girls, while Alpha Phi does and ends up getting some. This is why Alpha Chi is no longer the default house under big 6 anymore.

This is a good assessment about risk-taking for going after Big-6 type girls. You're totally right that APhi seems very bold about this! My (real) big sister roomed with an Alpha Phi two years ago who was on their recruitment team and she said they tried to get a healthy mix of girls who cried on bid day! She was like "what???" And the A Phi clarified that of course they want girls who are happy to be there, but they also want at least 20-30 who are teary-eyed and disappointed that they didn't get Big 6 because it means they were cross preffing with them. They don't care if they don't win them--just that they GET them in the end. Because it pushes their house to become more competitive the next year with houses who are also filled with Big6 girls from Big6 high schools. Tri-Delt is going the other way. They are second-guessing and releasing girls who MIGHT choose PKT instead of them.
And Alpha Chi does this too. They let their ego get in the way and go after girls who will be THRILLED with Alpha Chi, which is cool...but doesn't make them competitive over time.

I don’t recall seeing many girls in their PC crying but I think you’re right in that they take risks. it has paid off for them. A portion of the girls are friends with pbp and theta, so it makes sense.

Correct. It's the difference between going for the girls who are a given vs. going for the girls who are a stretch. And that strategy has obviously propelled Alpha Phi upward.

This post is clearly AXO’s attempt to retain their status since APhi has been getting so much positive press. Here’s the deal,
AXO replaced ADPI as big 6 back up years ago.
APhi has gained on AXO over the past 10 years.
AXO and APhi compete as the preferred big 6 back up. Now,
APhi now has the upper hand over AXO, especially with PCs that are better than DDD’s.
AXO PC sucked this year. Overall, they are now seen as the attractive but vanilla option versus APhi, which has the attractive partier reputation. The OOS PNMs pick up more on APhi’s national “hot” reputation which helps APhi outperform AXO here. Texas APhi also rushes more confidently than AXO, rushing girls that are big 6 territory.
All of this has resulted in AXO dropping. Either it’s big 6 + APhi or it’s big 6/big 7/top 7/whatever with # 7 being APhi.
We are seeing another seismic shift in sorority rankings here at Texas.based on a coordinated local and national effort.

You are so obviously an Alpha Phi. There is NO Big 6 + Alpha phi. There is simply big 6. Alpha phi, you compete with alpha chi, no matter how many times you come on here and try to claim some “omg we’re hot” narrative. Axo has just as many pretty girls, stop putting them down!!

Alpha Chi does well by COBing instead of taking whomever to hit quota. That being said, they are on the weaker edge financially due to membership numbers, which means they can’t have as large a budget as the others. Maybe that’s ok, maybe not.
Also, maybe it’s ok to be smaller overall. Maybe not.
