rushing from oos
by: OOSHow hard is it to rush from OOS if you are an incoming freshman?

I was from out of state and barely knew anyone. There's two things you can do:
1. Sign up for rush lists on the Texas IFC website, you will get texts from lots of lower and some mid tier frats about events and stuff
2. Find connections and friends of friends who know people at top tier frats and get on their lists
I did option two and am still very happy with where I went
If youre talking about sorority rush then I have no idea

Despite what you hear, top tier sororities all take several out of state girls. I do think they are usually from the same areas or private schools though because then you have an in. If there is anyone in chapters you know or a friend of a friend knows, contact them and try to go stay with them a weekend in the spring and go out at orientation with them too. Connections are all but the chapters like out of state girls from really good schools.
