What’s awkward is you think anyone is impressed. I’m a NMF that got Yale and accepted Texas. Cornell? Rural NY? Ithaca? Ok lol. For someone obsessed with ranks it’s not exactly the most respected Ivy but you tried. Curiousity = trolling other schools on GR and spouting your school rank like it means anything in a Texas? Plenty of Ivy accepted students in BH/Plan II by choice that feel secure enough not to troll other schools. UT is a state flagship required to give admission to top 7%. It fills more than 75% of the class with top 7% and those from more competitive schools who want to go to UT take different routes. They will graduate with the same degree and they will have better connections in Texas where they want to work then any OOS degree. Most of these ACC route dudes are going into top frats because they are connected and rich. They don’t need a Cornell degree to validate themselves. Again, no one cares unless they are unhappy with their own situation. Move on son

They don’t have a chance because getting to top 7% is much harder in more competitive schools. Non autos actually have higher test scores. Fiji and Rho are all about connections and they are connected. They will be just fine. It’s a number game, not an intelligence game.

It is a numbers game and it is much harder to get in to UT from really good public and private schools. True....but really don’t get why Rho took so many ACC this year. Guess trying to combat local name now. What i really don’t get though is why kids who got into UT would go Rho with a bunch of ACC kids verses Fiji, Sig ep, or even KA and Kappa Sig....seems crazy

It's possible, but you're basically locked out of majors you can get a job with, like business or engineering.

It’s not that hard I did it in 3 semesters with a 3.1gpa. You just have to transfer into liberal arts or communications

Seems like 90% of the guys who could’ve gone Fiji went Fiji. Rho got some cool guys but a lot of super douchey/creepy/meathead ones too. Seems so far that Fiji PC has the definite edge even though some of the guys are more reserved. Fiji and Rho are clearly #1 and 2 though with sig ep, kappa sig, and ka way behind

Fiji lost a ton of their top guys to Rho. It is common knowledge in top circles. I don’t understand at all why anyone would go to Rho verses a national fraternity.but then, I don’ t understand why Fiji or SAE would take ACC kids when so few actually manage to get in either. I actually think it is a great opportunity for Sig Ep and KA who both got really good pledge classes to close the gap. I am willing to bet girls who usually go to only Fiji and SAE will be branching out a bit this year. I think you already see it happening actually.

Fiji might have lost a few guys to Rho but they are very careful to build a well-rounded/strong class with super solid quality guys from all over the state and OOS. They truly have a different objective compared to Rho.

Rho has a good class but it is very heavy ACC, Houston and HP. SAE has always been more of a continuation of highschool for guys from these pockets.

Girls are much more likely to get in because so many are willing to be an education, art history, communications major etc. They just want into UT. Also easier for a girl to get into engineering if we are being honest. Guys aren’t as likely to choose a different major just to get into UT and UT is turning away some really smart guys from engineering and business. Getting into UT from ACC is not that hard - even getting into good majors can work if you are smart etc. Purely a numbers game. Coming from really competitive schools is just crazy hard.

Girls are practical. Better change who you think you want or long term you are going to lose top girls. We want boys who are going to be successful and are as smart as we are. Truth
