dropped from "low tier" house
by: UTgirlReally wish I hadn't read anything on this site before Rush. It really clouded how I felt about many of the sororities. Before Rush, I could never could get an answer about what really made a big 6 sorority "better" than the others. I decided to preference a house considered "lower tier" and was dropped. But on preference night given invites to two sororities considered higher. Wasn't expecting that.

This may be true about houses dropping girls from their pref list because they think they might choose to go to another house. Seems like a KD move. It's a terrible one, btw. So what if they end up choosing another house after pref? If you guessed wrong and the PNM actually did prefer your house to the other "top" houses she was attending (as in the case with the PNM here) then you just shot yourselves in the foot and missed out on a great girl! If they were right and PNM was going to choose the other house in the end, oh well!

Kind of like how "safety schools" nowadays preemptively reject students they think will end up going Ivy League ...
