does it matter what sorority you’re in?
by: ?I only have one house left tonight for pref. It definitely isn’t a top house by any means, but I’ve had a decent time there all week. Should I follow through and join, or should I rerush next year/COB/spring if I’m going to be getting that different of an experience? Do people care about what house you’re in or treat you differently?

Honestly, all the sororities at UT except for maybe SDT are really solid. They have nice houses, a full social schedule, age old traditions
The lower ranked houses will mix with lower ranked fraternities but everyone has a blast. You’re still part of the UT Greek community in a matter what house you’re in and you will always be lumped together in that way. Go for it!

The only time ranks matter is during rush. Once you have that bid, you will get as much out of your sorority (no matter the “tier”) as you put in. You jump in, get involved, and be friendly to everyone - you’ll have tons of bff’s and love sorority life! You cry on Bid Day, focus on everyone else’s IG accounts, and don’t make any effort to make friends - you’ll hate it and probably drop out.

AZD, A.DPi, DG Have great girls and great sisterhood. they all have beautiful houses. They have a full social schedule.
Look at them on Instagram. They’re all really attractive. The reason why they are lower ranked is because they are open whereas PKT wants to just rush their friends.
Take what you can get because you don’t want to miss a whole year of Greek life being super picky.

Absolutely not. If you’ve made it this far and are offered a chance at membership with ANY of the wonderful houses at UT, you truly are lucky. Ranks, tiers, and other people’s opinions are only relevant if you them be. Each chapter on this campus is strong; some people just like to put other sororities down to make themselves feel as though there are people that they’re better than. Surprise! The girls in PKT are no better than the girls in DG, KD, ADPi, and AXiD. Most people go through recruitment looking for friends and community, and you can find that no matter where you ended up. Be proud of your new house, be grateful for your bid, and make the absolute most of your freshman year with your sisters.
