you don’t need recs
by: UhRecs are clearly not as big of a deal at ut as everyone made it sound. Talk to 4 different girls today that had 7, 8, and 9 house schedules without having any recs to them. Why make it sound like recs matter?

They are waiting to see how much they like these girls. If they really, really, really want a pnm without a rec, they will procure one on her behalf if she makes it all the way to pref. This only happens for a handful of girls without recs IF they are highly desired. It's a real pain to get the recs so they don't do it but for a limited few. So what happens is, given a choice between a bunch of great girls, releases have to be made and the ones without recs are an easy cut decision.

They are, but I know for my chapter the ones after philanthropy day are bigger. We cut legacies that will be happier other places, and girls who have recs but again aren’t a good fit. We feel like it’s nicer to let them go early than lead them on.
